Amoda developed a unique method of Ecstatic Trance-Dance in 1996 and has subsequently taught hundreds of classes, workshops and retreats around the UK. Her work has been presented at Holistic Festivals such as the Mind, Body Spirit Festival in London and has been reviewed in a number of publications such as Kindred Spirit, Evening Standard and The Sunday Telegraph.

Her book “Moving into Ecstasy: an Urban Mystic’s Guide to Movement, Music and Meditation” was published by Thorsons in 2001 and has become a classic of its kind.

Over the years, Amoda has worked with a variety of high-calibre musicians to create an ecstatic energy-experience that has attracted large groups. She has also worked musically with her partner, Kavi Jezzie Hockaday, with whom she has co-led some of the retreats. Her work has crossed the borders of shamanism, chakra-work, tantra, movement therapy, breathwork, ceremony and ritual. The essence of her work is rooted in the teachings of the 21st century enlightened master and visionary, Osho.

In 2005, Amoda took a sabbatical from teaching in order to develop her work further. During this time, she wrote her second book “How To Find God In Everything”(Watkins, 2008).

Her Ecstatic Trance-Dance work has been passed on to a new generation of teachers whilst she herself runs the Teacher Training and Taster Workshops.

“When I dance, I weave the pattern of my life, my unique story.  When I dance, there is no right or wrong way . . .
I simply allow the dance to happen. I simply follow the sensations, feelings and emotions as they arise in my body, I follow the urges, intuitions and inspirations as they arise in my soul.  When I dance, my ego takes a back seat . . . there is no “controller”, no inner critic, no voice telling me what to do or not do. When I dance, I step into the unknown, I lose myself . . . I am just energy moving.

To me, dance is a path to higher consciousness.  When I dance, I move out of my “skin-encapsulated ego” and extend myself to the whole of Existence.  When I dance, every atom of my being vibrates with delight as my feet reach deep into the heart of the Earth and my head reaches up to touch the Sky.”
